Veronica Kent is a Melbourne-based artist with a practice incorporating photography, digital imaging, paintings, installation and performance. Kent’s works explore ideas of image, beauty, and intangible psychic energy, as they shift and change through time and space. A recurring theme across her work is the visual representation of invisible forces such as telepathy, energy, and desire, and her practice incorporates wide research and investigation into myriad periods of art history and visual culture.



Veronica Kent’s recent group exhibitions include Speech Objects, (Musée de l'Objet, Blois, France 2011); Telepathy and Love: The Spanish Apartment (OZCO Barcelona Apartment, Spain 2011); Structural Integrity (Next Wave Festival, Melbourne 2010); TableLampChairBigPainting (Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Melbourne 2010); and Erotica (Spilioti Projects, Athens 2009). Recent solo presentations of her work include Headhunters (Fehily Temporary, Melbourne 2010); and Seymour (West Space, Melbourne 2008). Veronica Kent is also one half of The Telepathy Project, an ongoing collaboration with Sean Peoples exploring telepathy as both medium and concept their work has been performed in Australia, France, Spain and the USA.

Veronica Kent has been the recipient of numerous awards, grants and residencies including the Australia Council for the Arts 2011 Barcelona Residency, 2011 Melbourne University traveling scholarships to research at the Freud Museums in London and Vienna and the Dowd Foundation traveling scholarship in Athens.  Her work is held in private collections in Australia, the United States and Europe.
